The Medium

Everything and everyone is a medium. What does it mean?
Let us consider an analogy. Everybody drinks water...but would someone drink the same water through a dirty glass? No.. in this context, the glass is just a medium through which water is transferred to a different container..the water is the same. In a clean glass, purity of the water is retained, whereas, in a dirty glass, it may become unsuitable for consumption.
This particular analogy can be applied all around and really helps in unravelling how this existence affects everything that is a part of it (us included). Let us apply this analogy to something like Education..
The water can be likened to the knowledge that needs to be passed and the medium of course is the teacher. Knowledge is pure, untainted and available in abundance, naturally throughout this existence. But it needs a medium for expression, namely through a teacher. If the teacher is like a 'Dirty glass', then sometimes the knowledge becomes unfit for consumption, it may even become poison. And why is that?
If we look a little deeper, there is no such thing as a 'Dirty glass' or a 'clean glass'. A glass is a glass and then there is only 'dirt' sticking onto it. This dirt is not part of the glass, which means that it can be removed. In the context of human beings, there is no 'bad human' or a 'good human'. A human is a human. We only need to be aware of the 'dirt' sticking onto us. And what is this dirt? It is the ego. And what is the ego? Just an attachment with that which is not real. A dirty glass can be cleaned and so can our identification with the ego. This does not destroy the ego, only the identification with it and gradually it too dies..
Only then can someone become a true teacher... acting only as a medium for the transfer of knowledge..having no intention of owning the knowledge that is being passed. Allowing every bit of it to pass on, uncorrupted, in its purest form. The teacher thus becomes a master and the knowledge wisdom. Only then does the true teaching happen...

We create our own situations

Haven't posted here for quite some while and I intend to change that habit for the good. It's been a tumultous life, ever since the awakening and somehow I managed to go back to the old circle of misery and feeling all pessimistic towards life... I thought it was not supposed to happen that way, with me having gone through the joyous experiences of meditation and all... but something elementary had gone missing or rather as I just realized, I had again got back into the same old habit of trying to swim against the current and ending up nowhere. I don't know if it happens to everybody, but there does come a time when you look back at the life you have lived and wonder if it was all worth it? The current situation you are in will always lead you to this question somehow or the other. The past few months have been really frustrating in terms of not being able to find what I was supposed to do and what exactly was supposed to happen through me. I figured out that for a person to really accomplish something that he/she loves, there is bascially the need for some kind of leverage. Although this can be generalized, but broadly, the two main types of leverage are Money, Time or Both. I didn't and still don't have both. Time always seems to be against me and half of my plans are not put into motion because of lack of cash. So it was natural for me to start criticising my own situation as it seemed to loom over me like a threatning & vicious monster, ready to suck the life away from me any moment. Really, perhaps someone else than me would have taken some drastic step and either would have ended his life or gone mad.. I don't know, maybe I'm exagerrating on that part, but that was just how things were. The word 'Meditation' merely remained a word in my life as I found myself caught in the eternal whirlpool of the mind which of course knows no settling.
But then, existence is never far from us and I can say that it starts working the moment we let it. Wisdom which I never found in any book so far(I haven't read any for a long time now) seems to just penetrate from a mysterious spurce and bathes the whole spirit in some kind of warm energy that is just to difficult to describe in words. it feels as if the strong of lights has just penetrated into the deepest most darkest of caves and illuminated every nook & corner. While I lay silently in bed contemplating as to what exactly had led me back into the traps of the mind and why exactly was I being put through such an ordeal, back came from the reply that wasn't of the mind, it couldn't be. The first words of wisdom were that if the mind was not so chaotic, there was no way of being aware of that element within which was at complete rest. Secondly, the situations which I was now promptly cursing, were in fact created by me and all I was going through were the experiences left behind from those creations. No matter in what situations we are, we are completely responsible for what we are going through. It could be happiness or misery, but we have created it and then we try to escape it, which in turn creates more misery. This understanding bought with it a subtle yet overwhelming joy that I just leapt out of bed and couldn't sleep after that. It was a joy beyond boundaries, from some unknown source... a light in the middle of darkness. How true was the wisdom! I was in the midst of situations which I myself had created and once this was accepted, some kind of a transcedence happend of it's own accord and the misery was gone. If I was responsible for the misery, then I can be responsible for the happiness too. And if I was creating both my misery and happiness, then there was certainly a way to rest and create nothing, just participate in what existence was creating and that is the essential meaning of meditation. The word ceased to be a word anymore and had re-entered into my life with a new meaning, a new dimension. I'm responsible for what I create & experience and thus I'm beyond both, just a silent witeness. Why then do I cry and fume over my own creation? Why do people cry and fume over what they experience? it is their own creation, their own plant that they sowed..what is the need to feel so miserable about? It is time to realize, understand this and face life in a new, meditative way.

The Awakening

The quest had lasted for 7 long years. A quest which had taken me to many different places, many different masters and through many different pleasant and unpleasant situations. Despite being introduced to various forms of divination, white magic and other powerful meditation techniques, the spiritual thirst in me always managed to reach a crescendo of utter frustration and failed to answer a question which I thought to be very simple, ‘Who is creating me?’
Spiritual growth had been the simplest of desires, and yet it had become a source of insecurity and uncertainty my whole life. Being based in Bangalore, I had the opportunity of meeting a lady who was very highly evolved and was a master of white magic and divination. During the times spent with her, I was introduced to various alternative therapies which had proved very useful in the spiritual growth of an individual. It was quite overwhelming to see the successful effects of these therapies on people who were suffering from all kinds of issues in their respective lives. Under her guidance, I got introduced to therapies like Angel Therapy, Crystal & Color Therapy etc...

It was during this time that I came across Past Life Regression as one of the alternative therapies which was proving to be a very successful method of relieving past traumas and experiences, which in turn led to total integration and healing of the being in the present. The name created genuine curiosity as, at this time I was looking to learn everything that the spiritual world had to offer and obviously my curiosity got the better of me. Using the common method of internet searching, I came across the web site for Life Research Academy and through it got introduced to Dr. Newton and the mission he had initiated across the globe. The material provided on the website was indeed very profound and seemed to be exuberating a fragrance of the much awaited spiritual knowledge that I was after for so long. In the next few clicks, I also discovered that Dr. Newton had a special therapists training workshop which was designed to specifically empower individuals to practice this therapy. By the time I was through with the web site, my mind had already started making plans for attending this workshop, to simply get equipped with this new form of therapy which looked very promising and refreshing among all the other therapies which I was aware of.

But Existence seemed to have other plans in store for me.. My ‘spiritual’ friends however had their opinions to share about Past Life Regression. They tried to convince me that the therapy was not going to be a good practice in a country like India where people were not so interested in knowing their past lives as they were pre-occupied with their present issues. I was told that whatever had happened in the past has been forgotten and locked away and there was no point in wasting time to know what traumas or issues were experienced during all the past lives we lived, we had enough to deal with in the present as it is. These words sounded quite logical as they came from people whom I had trusted to have greater knowledge of spirituality and so I started getting somewhat convinced by all they had to say. Still, some part of me had already established a connection with Dr. Newton and despite all my conscious efforts; I was never able to sever the connection between us. Though I agreed to all my friends, I still could not cope with what I was missing on and never took the time to wonder why this was happening. One part of me was getting convinced that past Life Regression was not so useful and the other part seemed to be growing stronger connections to Dr. Newton. It was unexplainable, this new development in me. The more I convinced myself of the cons of Past Life Regression, the stronger the connection grew. There was simply no stopping it. Still, I tried to put it all aside as I prepared myself to choose a direction for my life, which would fulfill all spiritual desires and also make me indulge in some work which I could say was close to my heart. I had decided that the time had come for me to choose a specific field and make it my career, my goal, my life.

I got introduced to Pranic Healing during this time and once I was through with all the levels, I had decided that I would dedicate my whole life to this field of alternate healing and would take up Pranic Healing full time. I quit my highly frustrating job at HP and enrolled my services in the Pranic Healing Foundation of Karnataka as a full time healer. As I got the opportunity to heal more people, I noticed that it was giving me a sense of deep happiness and peace which resulted from serving humanity by being a medium to alleviate their physical and psychological suffering. As the days passed, I was sure that I had found my calling in life and was very proud of the fact that I engaged myself in selfless service. My life purpose seemed to be now in alignment with what I wanted and everything was going quite well. Through Pranic Healing, I was introduced to Arhatic Yoga, a very powerful system of highly advanced meditations which ensured very rapid spiritual growth and bestowed the practitioner with pure and huge amounts of very positive energy. This energy could in turn be used to upgrade skills in healing and more power meant more number of healings and more number of successful treatments. So in this way, Pranic Healing was proving out to be a dream come true, as it promised tremendous spiritual growth and also provided a means to financially support myself. Everything was picture perfect and it looked like I couldn’t ask for more. The meditations I was practicing were very powerful and in order to accelerate spiritual growth I engaged myself in the meditations twice a day and this was producing tremendous results.

For the first six months, everything seemed to be going very well. My abilities as a healer had increased manifold and I was going through tremendous mystical experiences during the meditations. With all the energy being generated, I was also generating new desires in me to reach to the pinnacle of all my experiences and outrun all my ‘spiritual’ friends, just to show them how great and powerful the practices were. I started reading many books during this time which added to my knowledge base and made me feel prouder about all that I knew now. No matter how much I read or how much I practiced, I would always want more and more out of all that I was doing. I engaged myself in giving advice to people around me, based on what I had read and accumulated so far and would take pride in the fact that they considered me very ‘spiritual’. Life went on this way for a few more weeks and it really looked as if everything was now going towards a total settlement and fulfillment. But, one thing was very noticeable and it created a bit of a concern in me. Though I was happy with the way things were going, they were not giving me the fulfillment which I was expecting. I was still going through a few unpleasant and unwanted situations and would have no explanation as to why they were happening. I was of the impressions that once I found my calling in life, everything would fall in place, but it was somehow not happening. Initially I shrugged it off thinking of it as part of the spiritual practices I was indulging in myself. But their persistence worried me to an extent that I spent considerable hours worrying about possibilities which could happen and which actually never happened. Then one fine morning, while I sat in meditation, a strange phenomenon happened and life has never been the same again…

As I was going through the meditation, I began to feel a tremendous presence around me. At first I did not know what was happening, as it was something new. I could sense someone standing next to me and this created a bit of surprise mingled with fear and was enough to divert my concentration to it. I still had my eyes closed, but still could very clearly ‘see’ what was happening. It seemed to be a huge ball of white light and as I gazed at it, it started taking the shape of what looked like a human being. Though there was no distinct shape, I could sense that it somewhat looked like a Buddhist monk, but I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t even sure of what to expect and so kept looking at it for a few more minutes. Then, without any warning, the figure moved towards me and silently entered my body from the left side. At first, it seemed to be absurd that someone or something had entered my body and for a few moments I wondered if I imagined it all. Then all of a sudden, my body went numb and I fell, I kept falling forever and there was no end to it. And then started all my troubles. It must have been a few hours before I opened my eyes and as I did, I took in some time to register my surroundings. A faint memory of what had happened earlier still lingered on and I quickly brushed it off as I decided to re-start my meditation and complete it properly this time. But I could not. All sorts of negative thoughts started to appear out of nowhere and seemed to create a real havoc in me. The more I tried to stop them, the more powerfully they came back. I was really at a loss for what was happening. This had never happened before. Every imaginable negative thought was there, playing in my mind and simply not allowing me to meditate. And this went on for several days after that. Not only during meditations, but also during normal moments, all kinds of negative thoughts would freely invade me, all kinds of abuses would come out uninterrupted in my mind for people I knew and did not know. I simply could not imagine that all this was happening to me. This went on for several weeks and I could also not approach anyone to help me. I was not even in a position to make people understand what was happening within me. There was a great internal struggle, a war of immense proportions between my conscience and these negative thoughts that now had free access to all corners of my mind. This had left me spiritually and psychologically crippled and there came a moment when I could not take it anymore, I was about to explode. All that I had read and known before, all the so called knowledge could not rescue me from what I was going through. Even healing did not help in any way. All possible forms of help had been exhausted and there was nothing I could do for it.

Then, one fine evening I decided to give up. It was a fine evening in the month of November’2007 when I looked up towards the sky and completely gave up what I was doing. All my efforts, all my practices simply ceased and I stopped caring for whatever was happening within me. I simply stopped whatever it was that I was doing and allowed the battle within to have its own way. It was at this moment that things started to change and something very strange started happening. As I allowed myself to go through the trauma, I noticed that it was slowly loosing its grip on me. Gradually and slowly, the burden started lifting and I became aware of a great, tremendous silence that was now starting to appear within me, in every corner of the being. The more the burden lifted, the more profound the silence would become. Then came the sudden realization, like a bolt of lightning out of the silence. I was only witnessing all that was happening with me, and all that was happening with me right now. The silence was not part of me, I was it. Silent, just a watcher, a witnessing presence. And the more I sunk into this silence, new understanding began to arise in me, for the first time, I understood the mind and its nature. I understood the ego and its nature. All that knowledge I had gathered before, simply dropped away and a new wisdom dawned within me. My very effort to make the internal struggle stop was the only barrier in releasing it. The very ‘desire’ to be spiritual was the barrier. The clouds parted and I got a glimpse of that inner core which is eternally burning with the fragrance of awareness, the fragrance of simply being and witnessing. I had surrendered, total surrender had happened through me and then the ‘me’ who identified itself as Kartik was gone…Finished.

It was then realized that all this while, I was simply accumulating beliefs and notions of those around me and it seemed I never had a unique opinion of my own. All these beliefs dropped away as I realized that there was only one way to be an individual-Experience. I was now ready to experience all that was told as right and wrong to me. Total freedom can be achieved only through that way. Only experience could tell me what the truth was. I simply started flowing with life and out of nowhere, the long suppressed desire to attend Dr. Newton’s workshop now surfaced. It was not a desire anymore though. Experience was ready to flow through me and so I found myself travelling to Hyderabad to attend the workshop.
It was a moment of joy when I first met Dr. Newton; just his presence is enough to make you fall in love with him instantly. His teachings were not just mere teachings, but a way to remind us of our own potential and our capabilities. What we experienced in the therapist training workshop is beyond words, but by the end of it, it was all very clear to me what his true message was. We do not choose our calling in life, it is the calling which chooses us and then sends us a master who just reminds us of what we have been doing and what we have to do. Dr. Newton, his teachings, his disciples and his work are just the perfect examples of this.
It was simply overwhelming to see the kind of transformation that happens through Past Life Regression. It serves as an essential step towards our own inner self. It leads one to a higher understanding and only this kind of understanding takes us to where we want be.

By the end of the workshop, I had not decided to ‘do’ past life Therapy. Past Life Therapy happens through me. This was the kind of transformation that happened with me during the days spent with Dr. Newton at the therapist workshop.

If someone looks back at my past, all that has happened and asks me what my life was worth. Without doubt, the response would be ‘The 6 days we spent with Dr. Newton, were the days worth living for’.

Thank you Doctor ! - E.Kartik

At Peace Now

The search is over.....A Search that took me to many places, many people... A search that took me through good and bad situations. A search which took 9 long years...
What was the search for?
The answer is simple...It was the search for the ultimate truth..A search for peace and happiness. And the search was over the day I met myself..and in meeting myself I had met God..the supreme.
Robert Moore had once said "MAN TRAVELS THE WHOLE WORLD TO FIND WHAT HE WANTS..AND..RETURNS HOME TO FIND IT".

We waste so much of time in boring rituals, studying about angels and a fictional character who is believed to be sitting up in the sky watching over us, when in fact all that we need is within us. It is quite strange that we spend all our time trying to know the people around us, we exactly know how others will behave, what emotions the other person goes through, we seem to claim that we know everything about those who surround us, when in fact we do not even know 10% about ourselves.
We are not even aware of our own emotions, our own actions, our own capabilities, of what we actually are and still we waste time in knowing and studying about angels, gods, all kinds of personalities who may or may not exist. We have become objective in life, even spirituality has now become objective. God, enlightenment, psychic powers are now objects for aspiring spiritual people. In this respect, the most fundamental mistake we are doing is, that we have forgotten ourselves. Spirituality has to do with subjectivity, with the subject - which is you. People are out to conquer the world and in the process do not even know how to conquer themselves, let alone the world. We expect others to love us, to show us how special we are..How can we expect people to love us, when we do not love ourselves, when we do not love ourselves for what we are? It is when we accept ourselves for what we are, and this means total acceptance...we accept our faults as well as our capabilities, is when we start loving ourselves. This love goes beyond the ego and gives us a deep understanding, which then allows us to accept other people as they are. And when this happens, we are so full of love, that it simply overflows and transforms the whole energy around us. This is unconditional love. This is when we are so content that it will not matter what others think of us. When love simply overflows from our being, it has a positive effect on all those who are around us. But this happens only when we start loving and accepting ourselves for what we are...this is the first step.

Becoming more and more aware of ourselves is the first step towards God, towards bliss, towards peace. What we are seeking in the outside world through different objects is already present deep within us, within our being. We are already that which we want to be, or are striving to be, through external means. This has to be and can only be experienced and realized, it cannot be speculated, written or explained. Our whole effort and energy is concentrated upon knowing more about things which are external to us. Many people have wasted away their lives in studying and trying to know or define about Gods, Angels, spirits and what not...There is no harm in it, except that, in the process we have completely forgotten ourselves, we have forgotten our own potential. All that energy can be brought back towards ourselves, all of it can be put into use to go deeper and deeper into our own being and in the end what we are left with is exactly that which we have been trying to seek outside. This is the moment when we meet our true self, and this meeting brings with it the ultimate of all truths..what is god...

It is quite easy to point out the mistakes of others, but we never stop for a moment and look at our own faults. We are afraid of our own faults and thus put on a false mask to hide them...that is the truth. Having had the oppurtunity to speak to peole from all walks of life, I have observed that we always give lables to our life. Some say, that they live a material life, some say that they live a spiritual life. Some say that they lead a very good life, some say they are tired with their sad lives. In all of these words, there is only one thing which is common and that word is 'life'. Life itself does not have any labels...Life is not good or bad, life is neither material or spiritual. Life is just life, it is only our perception that is putting on the label to it. When you peel off the label, is when you come face to face with life. Life is simply meant to be 'lived', 'appreciated' and 'enjoyed'. Life is not meant to have any labels....Life is a reality and all the labels are false. When we die, all labels die with us..but what remains is life...life goes on, uninterrupted....
Well...My first tryst with blogging.
